Free Diabetes Check-Up Campaign Initiated By JCI Dhaka West

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka West organized a free diabetes check-up campaign at Khilgaon in the capital. This free check-up was conducted on November 14 from 9 am to 11 am, where needy and impoverished individuals were provided with free diabetes checkups. JCI Dhaka West’s 2023 Local President, MD Mahmudur Rahman, JCI Dhaka West’s 2024 elected President, SM Belal Uddin, and 2023 Vice President, MD Jahirul Islam Mohsan, were present at the event.

In this context, JCI Dhaka West’s President, SM Belal Uddin, mentioned that today’s event aimed to support the vulnerable members of society by prioritizing health protection on World Diabetes Day. He expressed the commitment to continue such initiatives regularly.

The free health check-up campaign was convened by Debabrata Bhowmik, with Reyel Ahmad and Wasika Tasnim serving as assistant convenors. Debabrata Bhowmik stated that the JCI Dhaka West family is pleased to play a leading role in the effort to raise awareness about diabetes from a standpoint of social responsibility, even though it is a small-scale initiative. Additionally, JCI Dhaka West has conducted several online campaigns to increase social awareness.

It’s noteworthy that Junior Chamber International (JCI) is an organization of energetic youth aged 18-40 years, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, with operations in more than 120 countries. Its global membership exceeds 200,000, and there are approximately 40 local chapters of JCI currently active in Bangladesh. Among these, JCI Dhaka West is the largest and oldest.
